Chapter 1 - Jordan

The first chapter covered several different concepts, but was mostly centered on getting a DAW set up and working. To do so, the text thoroughly explained several concepts both in terms of hardware and software in order to make sure that the reader can not only know how to set up the DAW, but also why we set up the DAW this way and what exactly each component does.

Since the DAWs were mostly put together when we got to the room, most of this was just a quick review of the different components and how they work together. Most of the information was interesting and informative, and even though I may have already understood some of the material it was still a good review. The practical exercise was also mostly just a review since the DAW was already setup, but I found the discussion on latency versus buffer size in relation to the different audio drivers to be quite interesting.

Overall, the chapter is well written (although I did notice a typo on page 6 in the line above the aside where it says "7200- RPM hard drive hard") and interesting and I thought it covered the material well.
